Service Description

In our Columbia Gorge photography experience, you will learn the basics of capturing our beautiful PNW waterfalls on this epic field trip. We will travel to the Columbia Gorge and practice photographing two waterfalls, while admiring beautiful scenery along the way. After our field trip, we will learn basic photo editing in the computer lab. Learn about waterfall photography from seasoned landscape photographer Josh Fawcett from JFawtography. We will spend time at 2 waterfalls practicing composition and the technical skills that make waterfall photographs so magical. The first hour of the day will be focused on learning composition techniques and the technical aspects of waterfall photography, followed by time to practice skills and be creative. The afternoon will focus on developing images using software such as Lightroom to enhance the image and add the artist’s touch. We will be hiking up to 3 miles; bring comfortable shoes, layers, food, and water to last the entire field trip. No fancy camera necessary, bring your phone fully charged and ready to capture the beauty of the Columbia River Gorge in this photography workshop. Transportation from Portland area is provided. This class is taught by visiting professional photographer Josh of JFawtography https://jfawtography.com/ and guided by Trish from Trails Diverged. - Any camera that you can adjust the shutter speed on. (Most phones can do this) - Tripod. (I have a few that can be borrowed. School may have some that can be rented/borrowed) (If using phone, a phone tripod mount would be needed.
