FAQ’s

Don't see your question on the list below? Shoot us a message and we'll get you and answer and get it added to the list below.

Tipping/Gratuity:

Can I tip my Guide? Yes! Gratuity is never expected and is always appreciated! Customary amounts are 10-20%. We often have people say they wished they had known before the trip if it was "allowed", our guides are the best!

Weather Policy:

We follow weather reports from NOAA.

We will do everything in our control to give you an amazing and memorable trip- Mother Nature is one of those things outside of our control. Trip cancellations made by Trails Diverged prior to your event will be extremely rare (we’re in the PNW so we operate rain or shine- as long as we can keep you safe!) will be transferable. We trust our guides to make your experience special; and we trust them even more to keep you SAFE. Guide decisions made during an activity will be followed without exceptions.

Gear Provided:

All gear we consider essential to your activity will be provided. A list of gear provided and a list of recommended items to bring for your adventure will be sent to you after you book. Always bring a water bottle, layers, snacks, and any personal medications you may need during your adventure.

First Aid:

All of our guides are trained and have received a certification for Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder. They carry essential first aid items in their pack on every activity for small needs. If you require specific items or have specific medical concerns, please let us know at booking and when you meet your guide.

Safety:

Every time you step outdoors, there are inherent risks. At the start of each trip, our guides will go over some of the common risks associated with your activity. These are by no means inclusive.

Our guides are equipped with radios and SOS satellite communication devices to attempt to obtain emergency services in our backcountry activities. As with all backcountry communications, these are not immediate communication devices; and there are still risks associated with travel outside of populated areas. Our guides are highly trained and will mitigate risks to the extent of their training.

Pace/Fitness levels:

We specialize in working with beginners- you are not too slow! Our intensity levels are indicated on the activity, and if you have concerns about this please reach out! We do not leave anyone behind, and we roll with the pace of the group. We may offer special events that require more intense activity; it will be explicitly noted on the event, and as always- we really are here for questions and to help you decide if its the right activity for you!
