Silver Falls Trail of 10 Waterfalls Trail Condition Report

Silverton, Oregon

Parking Pass Needed: Oregon State Parks Pass (options to purchase day pass at the trailhead)

Date of Visit: 4/19/2025

Distance: ~8.5 miles (Loop option)

Elevation Gain: 1156

Potential Concerns: Extremely well maintained, Trail split-offs can be confusing (Grab a map in the parking lot), Parking fills up on weekends, concession stand currently closed

Trailhead Amenities: Bathroom (running water), Water Bottle fill station, Picnic tables, Shelter, Gift Shop

The waterfalls are FLOWING! Don't miss the opportunity to walk behind several majestic waterfalls- and feel a little of that spray!

Although the full "Trail of 10 Falls" is approximately 8-9 miles, you can create a route to see Falls without doing the full distance.

This trail can be confusing; There are several places where it bisects other trails. There is a "canyon trail", "rim trail" as well as several short trails outside of the loop (Frenchie Falls, Double Falls, & Winter Falls).

Grab a map near the paystation at the South Lot Trailhead, or download one before you go (Gaia is my favorite mapping app; you can also find a copy of the trailhead map on stateparks.oregon.gov )

The concession stand is currently closed- make sure you have an abundance of snacks and water. This trail can get pretty hot quickly. Restrooms are only available at South and North trailheads (none along the trail); North trailhead tends to have a long line so prepare accordingly. There are no trashcans, plan to pack out all of your trash.

*If this is your first time on this hike: South Falls district has the largest parking area and amenities to get you ready to start your hike. Don't tell anyone else, but Upper North Falls is my personal favorite waterfall and snack spot. I find that using trekking poles reduces my fatigue and increases my enjoyment.

If you're not ready to go solo, join us for our guided interpretive hikes, or our waterfalls & wine experience! https://wix.to/rCeDTBs

Go chase some waterfalls!

I hope you find this helpful, and if you do please consider donating toward my goal of removing financial barriers and providing complete head-toe gear, permitting, and guiding for humans that would otherwise not be able to enjoy our outdoor areas.

Even $1 helps us reach this goal!

Happy Trails,

Trish
